Hi there! I'm Susan.

I am delighted to join the team of caring professionals at

Pike Road Counseling.

I bring a varied background to the team including experience in school counseling, career counseling in higher
education and refugee resettlement.

​

In addition to counseling education, I am also trained in 

play therapy and am a Registered Play Therapist. These combined experiences have guided me in my work with children and adolescents.

 

I endeavor to provide a warm and welcoming counseling setting for clients, believing that it is through a trusting rapport that clients can find healing and wholeness. Play therapy techniques allow a child’s play to be their voice in counseling. Play is the language of childhood and is the pathway to healthy growth and development.

 

My therapeutic approach is primarily Child/Client-Centered. However, I also lean on my training in Adlerian and Cognitive Behavioral Play therapies.
